Those who mastered dark power became dark power. Again and again the dark side has surged forth, like a storm…devouring whole worlds and entire star systems. Those who learned the powers of the dark side were quick to exploit this weakness-to make war. The weak-minded have ever been ready to obey one who wields great power. " Evil began in a time before recorded history, when magicians made themselves into kings…and gods…using the powers of the dark side of the Force. This led the exiled Jedi and former Sith, Kreia, who valued the individual over all else, to believe that as the light and dark sides were the two methods of using the Force, the Force itself was detrimental to individuals and thus should be removed from existence. The dark side overrode an individual's character and consumed the souls of those who used it, whilst submitting to the light side meant the death of the self and sacrificing for the Cosmic Force, an aspect of the Force that bound all things together and communicated its will to all life under the aspect known as the Living Force, the energy of all life. Unlike the Jedi, who used the light side of the Force, darksiders drew power from raw emotions and feelings such as anger, hatred, greed, jealousy, fear, aggression, megalomania, and unrestrained passion. Those who used the dark side were known as either Darksiders, Dark Side Adepts, or Dark Jedi when unaffiliated with a dark side organization such as the Sith.

The dark side of the Force, called Bogan or Boga by ancient Force-sensitives on Tython, was a method of using the Force. Whatever therefore you have said in the dark, will be heard in the light and what you have whispered within closed doors will be proclaimed from the house-tops. Therefore, whatever ye have spoken in darkness, shall be heard in the light and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets, shall be proclaimed upon the house-tops. Therefore whatever ye have said in the darkness shall be heard in the light, and what ye have spoken in the ear in chambers shall be proclaimed upon the housetops. So, whatever you have said in the dark, will come to men's hearing in the light, and what you have said secretly inside the house, will be made public from the house-tops.

Wherefore whatsoever ye have said in the darkness shall be heard in the light and what ye have spoken in the ear in the inner chambers shall be proclaimed upon the housetops. "Accordingly, whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in the inner rooms will be proclaimed upon the housetops.
